3D Scanner (ST001)

Unlike all other scanning systems which rely on optical, pin or pressure mat scanners, Soletec’s unique scanning  technology is the leading system that truly capture a 3D image of the foot for both footwear and prescriptive orthotics.

Optical or pressure mat systems can not function in the same way, even though they “manipulate” the data to produce an on-screen image which looks 3D.

Soletec's scanning technology, therefore, is the only system able to produce results as accurate as those obtained by old-fashioned plaster-cast methods.

The foot digitizer meets the market demands for a low cost piece of equipment with a quality image capture in a relatively short scanning time. It has a vision area of 160 x 120 mm and a scanning area of 400 mm. The foot is scanned in 8 s. and the output file is in ASCII format containing X, Y and Zcoordinates arranged in vertical sections parallel to each other with an accuracy to the nearest 1 mm.

Figure 1 shows one of the software’s screenshots.

The whole digitizing and output file generation process may take approx. 30 s. and the file size ranges from 500 to 700 K. The system incorporates automatic filtering and editing options (noise elimination).

It is one of the cheapest automated scanners. The cheapest scanners always require a continuous link with the operator and an additional cost derived for each digitization made. Soletecs scanner is supplied in this way to the market.

3D last digitizer (ST002)
.
The 3D last digitizer is necessary to start from digital lasts for any adaptation or redesign process.
.
Based on high-precision laser telemetry, it features automatic calibration, a resolution to the nearest 0.1 mm and a speed of 60 mm/s.
.
It operates with the most common CAD formats (D3D, STL, ASCII) and features a digitizing volume of:
.

X ( Height ) 400 mm

Y ( Width ) 300 mm

Z ( Depth) 180 mm

.

Therefore any last, sole or any other different pieces in regard to footwear etc can be digitized.

The last scanner can optionally incorporate a camera for textures.

HOW WE CAN HELP ?

Foot Care Services staff are highly experienced in bio-mechanics and gait-analysis and can quickly assess the condition of your feet from your posture, gait and a few simple questions.

Using sophisticated CAD-CAM technology, we can also scan your feet to produce custom-made footbeds (insoles) and custom made footware, which are perfectly matched to the contours of your feet, as well as full medical orthotics.

Foot Care Services can also recommend the perfect pair of shoes to match your type of feet and ensure that foot pain becomes a thing of the past. We can advise on the widest range of footware from a selection of many brands which are hugely popular in Europe and/ or the US, but have until now been available in the UK. Better still, this means that you can now experience total comfort without compromising on fashion or style.
